As part of a major funding campaign, REO AG is donating a total of 15,000 euros on behalf of all its employees to be distributed among the towns of Solingen, Pfarrkirchen and Kyritz where REO has its sites. With this donation, REO intends to support people in need and their relatives in the local area. The donation has been made possible by dispensing with the obligatory gift campaigns for customers at Christmas last year. Employees have also chosen to forego gifts in order to increase the donation amount even further.

Donations have been given to social, non-profit organisations in the local area of the REO sites in Solingen, Pfarrkirchen and Kyritz. REO is supporting five long-term projects that were proposed and then selected by REO employees. “The broad approval for the donation project among our employees shows that we at REO embrace social responsibility outside our company, too” says Jasminka Usein, Member of the Executive Board of REO AG, and adds:
Foregoing the annual Christmas gift initiative allows us to provide basic, really important things for other people. With the projects that have been selected, we also know that every euro will go exactly where it is needed.”

In Solingen, REO is supporting the local food bank. Every day, around 60 volunteers organise the collection, sorting and distribution of food that would otherwise go to waste. The food bank also uses its “Medimobil” to provide medical support to people who do not have access to medical care. In addition to the food bank, Palliatives Hospiz Solingen is also receiving a part of the donation. REO is in this way supporting the valuable work of the new inpatient hospice in Solingen. 28 employees and many volunteers provide support to seriously ill and dying people whose treatment options have been exhausted, and to their relatives too.

In Kyritz, REO is supporting the volunteer fire brigade. True to their motto “rescue, extinguish, recover and protect”, the fire brigade is an important partner for the citizens of Kyritz in preventing and averting dangers to the environment and people. The donation is also benefiting the youth fire brigade with its important and supportive youth work. REO is also actively supporting young people in the second project selected in Kyritz. The donation to the friends’ association of Goethe primary school will help improve the daily teaching and educational activities at the Goethe primary school in Kyritz. This will enable the school to offer, for example, educational excursions, swimming courses and support measures.

With the donation to the Kinderkrebshilfe Rottal-Inn, REO is making an important contribution to providing free help for families affected by childhood cancer. With its numerous offers of help, financial assistance and personal support, the association helps families and children to cope better with the extremely difficult situation of a cancer diagnosis and does not leave them to deal with the bureaucratic and exhausting daily routine on their own.

REO AG has been demonstrating social responsibility for many years, even beyond the current fund-raising campaign, in the spirit of corporate social responsibility. More recently, outstanding pupils were awarded the Physikus Prize and students have been supported within the framework of the Deutschlandstipendium.
